ISRO Rover Completed its journey and goes into sleep mode

ISRO Rover completed it’s one lunar day and goes into sleep.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) powered down its lunar rover, the Pragyan rover, after it successfully completed a two-week mission of conducting experiments. ISRO announced the rover’s entry into Sleep mode, ensuring its batteries remain charged and the receiver stays active. ISRO expressed hope for a successful reawakening for future assignments, but it might remain as India’s lunar ambassador if not successful.

India, by landing on the moon, joined the United States, China, and the former Soviet Union. Notably, India went further by reaching the lunar south pole, shortly after Russia’s Luna-25 mission crashed during a similar attempt.

Chandrayaan-3’s successful and textbook landing triggered widespread jubilation in India, hailed as the nation’s most significant scientific accomplishment.

During its mission, the Pragyan rover confirmed the presence of elements like Sulphur, iron, and oxygen on the moon’s surface, covering a distance of over 100 meters.

Now, India focuses on its latest mission, launching a probe on Saturday to study the sun, aiming to observe solar winds and their potential to disrupt Earth’s magnetosphere, causing phenomena like the auroras.

ISRO reported on Sunday that the satellite remains healthy and is currently in Earth’s orbit, preparing for its ambitious 1.5 million-kilometer journey towards the sun.
